About us

D&L IP Group is a brand known in the market of intellectual property services provided by the International Patent and Law Firm D&L-Consult and the International Patent Services and Translation Center D&L-Patent, both in Ukraine and abroad.

 

International Patent and Law Firm D&L-Consult was established in 2003  by patent attorneys Liudmyla Portna and  Diana Portna. The company's core business is providing services in the field of intellectual property. In particular, obtaining legal protection for trademarks and inventions, as well as protection of the rights of their owners though conflict resolution.

 

In 2014, patent attorneys Liudmyla Portna and Diana Portna founded the International Patent Services Center "DiL-Patent" .Its activities are focused on providing translation services for patent applications for inventions filed under the PCT and Paris Convention procedures for entry into the national phase in Ukraine, Eurasia, the EU, the USA, and other countries.

 

The team of professionals headed by patent attorneys Liudmyla Portna and Diana Portna, successfully represent clients' interests and have a large portfolio of patent applications, registered trademarks and granted patents for inventions and utility models and industrial designs.

Liudmyla PORTNA

Experience and Education:

 

Liudmyla graduated from the National University for Food Technologies gaining specialization in biotechnology, microbiology, chemistry, organization of technological processes. She has also gained extensive industry experience working in research lab of the leading Ukrainian Pharmaceutical Enterprise as well as at the Scientific Research Institute NPO “SPECTR”.

 

Beginning from 1993, Mrs. Portna focused her efforts on technology innovations and viable strategies for protection of Intellectual Property graduating from Institute for Intellectual Property and Kyiv Law University of the Academy od Sciences of Ukraine gaining Masters of Law degree and certification of the Patent Attorney of Ukraine allowing her to practice in the field of inventions, utility models, industrial designs, trademarks, as well as to practice law.

Portna Diana

Diana Portna is a co-founder of the firm and is involved in the strategic development and client relations. She is focusing her practice on developing global trademark prosecution and enforcement strategies for major clients worldwide. Diana Portna has a winning record of overcoming provisional refusals under Madrid Protocol in Ukraine and US and is currently developing US trademark prosecution and conflict resolution offering for domestic clients.

 

Ms Portna graduated from Department of Law of Kiev National Economic University in 2001. While still at school, she was assisting a group of prominent attorneys with maintenance of high -profile patent and trademark portfolios and intellectual property enforcement matters in Ukraine.

 

In 2002, Diana obtained an advanced degree in Intellectual Property and Law (with honors) and passed qualifying exam to become a Patent Attorney of Ukraine. Thereafter, Ms. Portna worked in the Intellectual Property Practice Group of Baker & McKenzie at its Kiev Office where she coordinated national trademark and patent filing, contributed Ukrainian chapter to a worldwide trademark clearance projects, drafted winning oppositions to provisional refusals under Madrid Agreement and Protocol, provided clients with advice on IP enforcement in the Ukrainian legal environment and otherwise actively participated in a vibrant international IP practice closely interacting with European IP Practice group as well as with in house corporate IP departments of major corporations.
